FAQ - Frequently asked questions and answers

Sollten für eine Gruppe weniger als 3 Personen angemeldet sein, werden anstatt den ausgeschriebenen vier Stunden, zwei Stunden am Vormittag gefahren.

Yes, we do offer group courses during low season. If there are less than 3 people in a group, the course will only be two hours in the morning, instead of four hours.

No! Every ski course participant needs a valid ski pass, which can be purchased at the Obergurgl-Hochgurgl cable cars. Children up to three years ski for free, but do need a valid ski pass in order to pass the checkpoints at the entry to the ski lifts! If all children hold a valid ski pass prior to the course, we can guarantee a punctual start of our group courses. Please present a valid ID for your child when purchasing the ski pass, as it is required in order to get a reduced lift ticket.

Children who participate at a beginners’ course (first time on skis) do not need a ski pass on the first day. All other children need a ski pass. For group courses for adults and teens (complete beginners) we recommend purchasing a ski pass starting from the fist day (most buy a 6-day ski pass - cheapest option). Based on our experience, participants can take the beginners’ lift (Wiesenlift or Mahdstuhl lift) after the first 2 hours. If you can take the ski lift you need less strength and improve faster.

For organisational reasons we are unable to offer half-day group courses.

Participants are assigned to groups based on their skills and age. In this way we can guarantee a quick progress of the participants. If your children (from 4 years) absolutely want to ski together, both children will have to join the group that suits the weaker child.

Our 6-day ticket is the most reasonable offer. If you are not sure if your child (from 4 years) likes skiing, you can also purchase a 1-day ticket. If your child likes the course, you can purchase a ticket for more days (normally 5). If you purchase at least 3 days, the additional course fee is 57.00 € (per day).

Yes, but if you book 3 days (course tickets are valid on consecutive days only), you can purchase more days afterwards. In this way, you are more flexible. An additional day costs 57.00 €.

Yes, since the allocation starts at 9.30 am on Sunday and Monday, you can first of all leave your children in their group course and then join your own group. The course times are arranged so that you can meet again at the same collection point at the end of the courses. If you should arrive late on any one occasion at the collection point, your child will be looked after in the meantime by the ski instructor.

Skiers are allocated to their group directly at the collection points Jenewein, Hochfirst and Wiesental. Please talk to the area managers (blue ski suit) at the collection points, they will tell you which group you are allocated to. Grouping depends on size, skill, language and age of your child. If you think your child should be in a different group, please talk to the respective area manager.

Unfortunately we are unable to refund the course fee, if your child does not like the course. We can however offer you to use the difference (of unused days) for another offer of the Ski School.

Refunds (only unused course days) on the ground of injury or illness can be allowed only on submission of a doctor's certificate from a local doctor. Course cancellations due to weather conditions (force majeure) will not be refunded.

If you or your child want to join a different group, please talk to the respective area manager or to your ski instructor.

Beginners’ courses start on Sundays and Mondays. Advanced skiers can join the group course on any day of the week (there are no group courses on Saturdays).

Due to organisational reasons we are unable to confirm or promise that you will have a certain instructor during a group course. If you book a private lesson it is of course possible to book your preferred instructor, if he or she is available.

3-year old children can learn to ski in a playful way in the BOBO Ski Club . Our experience shows, that 2 hours per day are sufficient. Children from 4 years can join our full day courses (4 hours) with the option of booking lunch care.

All of our instructors speak German and English. Some instructors also speak other languages. During group allocation we will of course try to meet your language requirements.

Yes, we do offer group courses during low season. If there are less than 3 people in a group, the course will only be two hours in the morning, instead of four hours. 5-day and 6-day tickets are available upon agreement in our offices.

No, due to organisational reasons this is not possible. When starting the course, the ticket is validated on a daily basis (so it is not possible to suspend the course for a day, except Saturday). There are no group courses on Saturdays.
