  • German motorway A8 in the direction of Rosenheim – Kufstein A12 Inntal motorway in the direction of Bregenz – NOTE Section Control AND after the tunnel near Innsbruck Mitte keep to the right immediately (signs to Innsbruck-Mitte Zentrum / Schweiz / Deutschland / Aiport / Bregenz / Innsbruck West)

Take your time when driving through the Ötztal, a curvy road and through the longest side valley of Tyrol. As everywhere in Tyrol, here also you should expect speed checks. When there is heavy snowfall the requirement may come into force for cars without four-wheel drive travelling from Zwieselstein to Obergurgl-Hochgurgl to fit snow chains. Therefore always have your chains ready to hand. Arrival in Obergurgl. Ötztal. Tyrol - The Diamond of the Alps. Give your car a break! 

It is about 50 km from Ötztal railway statin to Obergurgl-Hochgurgl. The bus to the Ötztal departs from the station at hourly intervals.

The closest airport is located in Innsbruck (INN) about 100 km from Obergurgl-Hochgurgl. At the airport you will find the Ötztal Shuttle and taxis, which will be happy to take you to your hotel. Use the online form to book your seat on the Ötztal Shuttle.
