No! Everyone in the ski school requires a valid ski pass which is obtainable at the Obergurgl-Hochgurgl lift stations. Children born 2008 or after are free of charge but require a ski pass for the lift control! If all children have a ski pass before the lesson starts we can guarantee to start on time. In order to receive the free lift pass please show a valid passport of your child at the lift cash desk. (Status: Season 2016/17)
Children beginner groups (never been on skis) require no lift pass on the first day. We recommend all adults and teenagers (complete beginners) to buy a ski pass for the first day. (Most buy a 6 day pass- the cheapest possibility). We know from experience that most pupils are on the beginner lift after 2 hours tuition. This saves energy and speeds up the learning process.
Unfortunately we are unable to offer half day group lessons.
The children are put into groups according to their ability and age. We thereby achieve the best and quickest learning results. When your children ( from 4 onwards) want to ski together they will be put into a group which suits the weakest child.
The 6 day ticket is the cheapest offer. If you are not sure whether or not your child (from 4 years) will enjoy skiing, it is possible to buy a ticket for one day. If your child wishes to continue you can then buy a ticket for the following days (normally 5). If you buy a 3 day ticket you can then buy extra days for EUR 42,- per day. (Status: Season 2016/17)
Yes. If you decide to buy only a 3 day ticket (to be used on 3 consecutive days) you can buy extra days at a cost of EUR 42,- per day. More flexibility. (Status: Season 2016/17)
Yes. On Sundays and Mondays the ski school begins at 9.30 a.m. so it is possible for parents to first bring their child to the ski school and then join their own class. The ski classes are organised so that adult and children groups finish at the same time and at the same place. If the parents are late a ski instructor will take care of your child until you arrive.
The children will be put into groups at any one of the meeting places:- Jenewein, Hochfirst or Wiesental. Please contact the ski instructor with the blue ski suit who will then put your child into the appropriate class. The classification depends on several factors:- size, ability, language and age of the child. If you think that your child should be in another class please contact the leading ski instructor with the blue ski suit.
Unfortunately we are unable to give you a refund for this reason. We will however offer you the chance to use the unused ticket for any other ski school offer.
Refunds will only be given for the unused days in the case of illness or injury if you can give us a certificate from the local doctor. There will be no refunds if a class is cancelled due to bad weather.
If your child wishes to change classes please contact his or her ski instructor or the ski instructor with the blue ski suit.
Beginners can only start on Sundays or Mondays. Advanced skiers can join a group any day of the week. No ski school group classes on Saturdays.
We cannot arrange this for reasons of organisation. It is possible to book a certain ski instructor for private lessons if he or she is available.
It is possible for 3 year olds to learn skiing in a playful manner in the Bobo childrens club. From our experience we recommend 2 hours maximum daily. From 4 years and older we offer 4 hours with lunch time care if required.
All of our instructors speak German and English. Several instructors also speak Dutch, French, Russian and other Slavic languages. We try to accommodate any special requests regarding a certain language.
Yes we do but if a group has less than 3 people there is only one 2 hour lesson in the morning instead of the normal 4 hours. Please ask in the ski school office if 5 or 6 day classes are possible.
Due to reasons of organisation is this not possible. The only day you can miss is Saturday. There are no group classes on Saturdays.
