Getting to the Obergurgl ski school

 

Travelling by car

Main traffic routes

Toll-free journeys:

  • German motorway A7 towards Füssen – Reutte – Fern pass – Nassereith towards Imst – B186 Oetz Valley regional road – Obergurgl – Hochgurgl
  • German motorway A95 Munich – Garmisch Partenkirchen – Scharnitz – Seefeld – Telfs – B189 Regional road towards Haiming / Oetz Valley train station – B186 Oetz Valley regional road – Obergurgl-Hochgurgl

Compulsory toll journeys:

  • From Bregenz take the A14 towards Innsbruck – on the S16 through the Arlberg tunnel (toll charges) or over the Arlberg Pass St. Christopher / St Anton – continue on the S16 towards Landeck / Zams – from there take the A12 Inn Valley motorway towards Innsbruck – exit Oetz Valley (Ötztal) – B186 Oetz Valley regional road – Obergurgl-Hochgurgl.
  • German motorway A8 to Rosenheim – Kufstein A12 Inn Valley motorway towards Bregenz – beware  of section control. After the tunnel by Innsbruck Middle (Mittel) immediately head right (signs for Innsbruck main center / Switzerland / Germany / Airport / Bregenz / Innsbruck West)

Allow yourself plenty of time to get up the long and winding Oetz Valley road, it’s the longest side valley in the Tyrol.

Be careful of speed cameras that are frequent here in Tyrol. Winter chains are required in heavy snow for vehicles without four-wheel drive from  Zwieselstein to Obergurgl – Hochgurgl. So make sure you keep your snow chains handy.

  1. Every place is within walking distance of one of three main lifts located in the village. Within 10 minutes you are up on the pistes at 3,000m above sea level
  2. The centre of the village is a traffic-free zone and at night there is a traffic ban
  3. No long term parking spaces
  4. Free ski bus service that runs every 10 minutes
  5. Our ski school offices are located right next to our meeting point

By rail

The distance from the Oetz Valley train station (Ötztal Bahnhof) to Obergurgl – Hochgurgl is
approx 50 km. From there you can take the bus up the valley every hour.
